The Dangers of McDonald's:

Well, this story starts on Tuesday afternoon.  It was a good day, not too cold just right for a little walk.  I decided to go out to eat lunch, but I had no particular place to go.  I started walking and then it hits me....I haven't visited the golden arches for a while.  So, I start making my way towards Big Mac haven.  I get there and there wasn't a line at all.  Check my watch and it read 12:30, so I was thinking hmm lucky day 12:30 and a McD's and not that many people.  I order 2 Big Mac meals because I was hungry and I am a fat boy like that.

I get my order and I began to eat.  Yummy!!!!!  I finish all my food threw away the trash and then started to do what I needed to do.  Dinner time came by, decided not to eat because I just didn't have an appetite for anything.  Decided to go to bed around 10 because all my stuff is pretty much packed up and put away preparing for my big move from Korea to the States.

WARNING this post get's explicate after this point.  People with weak stomach, weak hearts, pregnant.... (Typical rollercoaster warning) should not continue.

When I wake up the next morning it finally hit's me, I had to shit like no one's business.  Get out of bed feeling a little dizzy and having a little headache.  Figured it was because I got up way too fast of well.  Get to the bathroom and begin my business.  Well, a few minutes later I had to throw up BAD!!!!  Didn't know where it came from but I just had to do it, out comes my Big Mac and Fries.  WOW, I saw chunks of meat pickles lettuce and fries.  I was thinking I ate that shit about 16 hours ago it should have all been digested.  Well I guess I was wrong.  I pretty much spent all day in bed yesterday.  Feeling like shit, massive headache, can't even hold down the water that I was drinking.  And then around 3 the movers show up.  They proceeded to pack up all my stuff and move it out my house.  Me being 1/2 conscience the whole time I wasn't even sure if they packed up with right stuff or not.  Oh well, I guess when I am missing shit when I get to my next duty station I will know then.  After they left I threw up again.  All in all, I think I threw up about 4 times, couldn't eat anything, and just had the biggest headache in the world.  Real shitty day to say the least.

The good news is I am that much closer to getting the hell out of Korea.  Not that it's a bad place to be it's just about time that I get out of here.  Oh, and I don't think I will be visiting the golden arches anytime soon.  Wish I had In N Out over here.  Man I can sure use some of that right now.  Who want's to go with me when I get back to the states?

I got some skills ;)

Well, last saturday was an interesting day.  Wait let me start this story back about a month ago.  My unit was going to put on a chili cooking contest with a whole lot of other events around the day.  I would have either went to the contest and cooked or just participate in other events that they had going on.  Needless to say me being the fat ass that I am I chose to cook, plus I was getting a little rusty since I hardly cook anymore.  Well, so here I am entered into a chilli cooking contest when I never cooked chili in my life.  So, I did a little research on the web picked and chose what I thought was the best of all chili recipies and I just went at it.  I made a batch to try out and didn't turn out bad at all.  This preliminary batch was about 2 weeks before the competition.  I took the 1st batch to the office and asked people to try it.  Got back some comments and went back to the kitchen to revise.  Well the day during the competition was my second time cooking chili, but armed with a little experiance some know how and comments from my last batch I was pretty confident that I would win something.  Well when I was finaly done cooking I started passing it aroudn to everyone to try and a lot of people said they liked my chili a lot.  a good amount of people though my chili was the best chili there and I got thier vote.  Too bad they weren't the official judges.  I submit my chili to the judges and a few hours later they announced the results.  I WON 3RD!!!!!!!!!!  I was pretty proud of myself becuase 2nd time I ever made chili beating out a lot of other people that made lots of chili in their lifetime.  Feeling a little proud of myself people were coming up to me saying that the results were BS because I had the best chili.  I thanked them and just went on my merry way thinking to myself I got some skills second time cooking chili and I beat 6 other teams.  This to me was a pretty inpressive feat.  I started telling them you should scream fix and then just sat back and enjoyed myself. 

Next time I go home i'm going to have to make some chili for everyone and perfect my recipie and take 1st sometime whenever I enter another contest hehe.

My epiphany:

Well being in the army for almost 3 years now I finaly realized something.  I really don't get along with most of these people on my off time.  Is that to say I can't work with these people?  No, I just keep things at a proffesional level.  But, when it comes down to hoddies and commen interest I just don't share the same one's as a lot of these people.  I mean most of these people lissen to country music (not me), like to go hunting/fishing (boring), drink/smoke on a daily basis (been there done that...just not me), complete assholes when they want to be (I can be one too but I chose not to be), and just act stupid cause of immaturity (yeh I know I'm not that mature either but when they get drunk they get really stupid and I start acting like the responsible one). 

Basically this came to me last night when I was hanging out with my platoon during our off time.  They  all grabbed beers to drink and then started smoking cheap cigars.  I was thinking I got over my cigar phase a long time ago and promised myself to not start again.   They were trying to peer pressure me into it but to no avail.  Then they started drinking games so I was like fine.  Keep in mind I was never ever a big drinker or like the taste of alchol.  We all started drinking and then they started to act dumb so I stopped drinking desciding it was better to sobber up and make sure no one gets hurt then try to explain things to my chain of command. 

Out of a whole platoon of people most of them aren't college educated so I can't really relate to them on a lot of things.  They live really simple lives and joined the army because they are guarented a roof over their heads and food in their stomach.  I guess I just want more.  Maybe I can relate to officers more, but who knows.  I don't think I want to stay in long enough to find out. 

But, I do have to admit that I am pretty lucky.  Since I don't get along with most people in my platoon, the people that work directly under or above me I do get along with and really don't mind going out with them on my off time.  I guess we are the odd balls our of the company.

WOW, I jsut watched FF7 advent child and it's GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You should all go watch it hehe.

Oh, and HAPPY MOON FESTIVAL!!!  Eat plenty of moon cake and enjoy the night sky.
